Tips to make MATHS easy

Maths is the most common LEAST Favourite subject. And if you're among the people who see maths a zombie, then these effective tips will surely help you out in studying math. And if you find maths as a scoring subject, then don't leave! You might take with you something helpful.

1. Do mental exercises

You might be wondering like what mental exercises have to do with studying math..
Maths is a subject that requires concentration and if you're someone who can't concentrate on things, then this is where workout comes to the play. Working, especially yoga out not only makes you physically fit, but also improves your mental health and concentration level. You may meditate, if you don't feel like doing it, then consider taking breaks at regular intervals. THis would help you refresh and prevent from getting stressed.

2. Don't memorize formulaes

I've seen many students struggling on 'cramming' the formulae, which is not needed at all. See those mathematicians derived at the formulae because it makes sense, it can be proven not like they just came up with random figures and throwed them on the paper. Try to get to those reasons, understand the proof rather than just mugging up the letters or numbers or whatever.

3. Practice calculations

Don't just be dependent on calculators for calculations. I mean in exams it's just a different case and you need not waste your time just scribbling on the paper if you are allowed to use a calculator. It's indeed of great use when you add 'solving math sums' in your routine. It would be a sort of mental exercise, as well as it will improve your calculations. Here I'm not talking about problem solving but just some classic sums, 15-20 per day. And I bet you'll thank me later on.

4. Maths ain't all about problem solving

It does require practice but it is not just about solving loads of problems. Focus on conceptual clarity. When your basics would be clear to you, then you can rock the hardest problem of all!

5. Be practical

Math is all around you. Just like science, it is there in your surroundings. Get your hands dirty and do activities. You may prove all the theorems and formulae by activity method. Start visualizing, get out of the book. Explore the math around you. You will firmly start enjoying math. There is nothing to be afraid of.

6. Note-taking tips

Sneak peak of my notes for 'Triangle and it's
properties'

  • As I mentioned earlier, don't just cram the formulae, mentioning the reason for a particular formulae alongside is really helpful, especially during your final revision.
  • Highlight the main theorem/ formula. This is to increase the effectiveness of notes and the reason is quite obvious.
  • Make figures and diagrams, your visual memory is longer and this will help to remember stuff for quite longer time.
  • You may get reference from the pic attached alongside.
